General or specific area technical deep dives are performed by one or more expert BlueShift Consultants to provide an independent and objective technical review.
BlueShift Consultants will provide direct and objective team feedback on design quality and checkpoint/milestone approval readiness.
What is a Deep Dive Review?
A Deep Dive Review is an in-depth review of a narrow aspect of or complete engineering design or program for the purpose of identifying flaws, weaknesses, or limitations and development of corrective actions. The deep dive review process can be applied to technical, production, or business issues.
A Deep Dive is most successful when led by experts not involved in the design to ensure an independent objective review. It may also be performed to help identify the root cause and solution for design failure (pre or post production and deployment) when the source of failure is unknown and project success (technical performance, schedule, and cost) is in serious jeopardy.
Deep Dive Components
Initial meeting with the customer
oUnderstand the nature of the design and any known technical performance issues
oEstablish scope of review and any constraints or factors to consider related to conducting the review
oUnderstand documentation and design team member availability
oDetermine review team membership
oEstablish preliminary review schedule including final report delivery documenting findings and recommendations (written report and presentation).
·Assembly and review of all needed written documentation relevant to the review.
·Formation of the review team.
·Review of documentation, processes, and methodologies used.
·Conduct individual design team member interviews to collect additional undocumented information and have them explain their design in-depth, assumptions, engineering techniques and methodologies applied.
·Structure and conduct formal team in depth review meetings (agenda and duration depends on scope)
·Management updates on findings done incrementally throughout the review process.
·Develop and deliver final report and recommendations.
